Machame Route – 7 Days 6 Nights

Safari 27 bring to you a machame route where is known as the whisky route due to be mostly steep make some how to became difficult to climb through. Due to its adventure it makes the route become popular route compare to other routes.

The Machame route is scenically beautiful and varied. However, due to its popularity there are increased numbers of trekkers, it loses some of its splendour. The Machame route approaches the summit from the southwest and descends using the Mweka route, rewarding climbers with views of the expansive Shira Plateau, an optional scramble up Lava Tower, a climb up the Great Barranco wall, and a traverse underneath Kilimanjaro’s southern ice field.

Day 1.

Machame gate to machame hut.

Hike 7 to 8 hours on tropical rain forest.

After breakfast our staff will pick you from you accommodation moshi or Arusha to machame gate (1800m) for cheek in. were you will meet your climbing crew like guides porters and cooks after you will start to like a long a tropical rain forest with lunch box while experience some wild animal like monkey and birds, after you will reach machame hut (3000m) for overnight and dinner.

Day 2.

Machame hut camp to shira camp.

Hike 5 to 6 hours on moorland zone after breakfast you will start to like a long a moorland zone while you will have an opportunity to view kibo hurt approaching to shire plateau, hot lunch dinner and over night at shire camp (3840m).

Day 3.

Shira camp to balanco camp.

Hike 9 to 10 hours on moorland zone and alpine desert.

Early after breakfast you will start to like approaching region were hot lunch will be provided at lava tower. (4630m) after you will proceed to balanco comp (6800m) at this point is where likes start body changes influenced by high altitude. You will have an overnight in your lent at balance comp below the huge balanko wall, dinner with hot water will be provided as well.

Day 4.

Balanco comp to karanga comp.

Hike 3 to 5 hours on alpine desert

After breakfast you will start to karanga comp (3950m) were its a good day for crimatization, hot lunch will be provided at the comp with overnight and dinner.

Day 5.

Karanga comp to barafu comp.

Hike 3 to 4 hours on alpine desert.

After breakfast you will start to like to barafu camp (4550m) at this point it characterized by drought so crew will like with water from karanga comp hot lunch will be provided at the camp. After you will hike to crossover point (4559 m) for crimatization is a Swahili word which means ice so at the camp is freezing all the time dinner with tea and hot water will be provided after followed by short sleep before to summit.

Day 6.

Hike to uhuru peak.

Hike 8 to 10 hours on alpine desert and snow.

2400 after wake up you will be provided a tea with hot water then start to hike with your guide and some of crew member , don’t afraid it takes some difficult to hike on steep slope while sometimes mountain sickness due to high freezing on high altitude. After 5 to 6 hours you will reach Stella point (5685m) on the crater rim of mountain Kilimanjaro you will proceech hinting on a snow covered trail for about 2 to 3 hours up to uhuru peak (5895m) it’s your summit point and the highest point of the mountain. After a short time at the peak you will start to descend back to barafu camp 3to 4 hours for some rest after having a hot lunch you will continue descending back to mweka hut camp (3100m) featured by moorland zone for overnight and dinner.
